Your Wish is My CMD;

"Your Wish is my CMD;" is a collaborative project by a small group of Florida State University's visual art and mechanical engineering students, exploring the interplay between technology and nature in shaping human desires.

Split into two rooms, the experience contrasts AI-guided interactions with instinct-driven actions. In the AI-driven space, participants may choose to place a coin into the phone and voice their wish at the dial tone. Our code takes the speech and visually integrates the requests into a compounded image. Meanwhile, in the natural setting of the second room, participants are faced with a rock structure haloed by brush material and live feed of the interactions next-door. Throwing coins into the “pond” triggers changes in submerged lights, but there is no need to speak aloud and there is no opportunity for one’s wish to be publicly displayed.

The project provokes reflection on how our desires are influenced by our environment, offering a multi-sensory journey into the complexities of human aspiration. Personal contributions include conceptual design, material sourcing, construction of desk area, and pond creation and filtration.
